Eating disorder online support groups
About this tool
Beat, an eating disorder charity, run a range of different online support groups for those with eating disorders. You don’t have to have a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder to use any of the groups.
The groups are moderated by a Beat member of staff to ensure the safety of all of its users. This means that any content which includes personal information, pro-eating disorder content, or other harmful content such as content which encourages self-harm or suicide, will be removed. Safeguarding protocols will be followed and information will be passed on to the police or social services where it is felt an individual is at risk of harm.
All content that is shared in the online support groups is moderated in line with Beat’s online services guidelines.
How it works
Beat run a number of eating disorder online support groups for those with eating disorders. You don’t have to have a formal diagnosis of an eating disorder to use any of the groups. They offer a safe, online space for people to share concerns and advice on how they are coping.
Eating disorders thrive in isolation, so it is important to stay connected and support each other through this.
