Time for You

About this tool

Time for You is an online wellbeing support service that is delivered by SAMH. It provides different options of virtual support including wellbeing coaching by SAMH Wellbeing Practitioners and talking therapy by Trainee Psychologists from the Glasgow Caledonian University Psychology PhD programme. The support is open to anyone aged 16 and over, living in Scotland and experiencing ‘mild to moderate’ mental health concerns.

How it works

Time for You offers wellbeing coaching or talking therapy sessions over the phone or via videocall. Wellbeing coaching with a Wellbeing Practitioner involves working towards achieving mental wellbeing goals. These goals might include but are not limited to:

  • Managing emotions
  • Increasing low self-esteem/confidence
  • Increasing abilities to self manage
  • Making impactful life changes.

Talking therapy with a Trainee Psychologist involves understanding an individual’s experience, developing strategies and increasing self-awareness. Certain topics that an individual might work on include but are not limited to sleep issues, low mood, anxiety, disordered eating, and stress. Trainee Psychologists use a therapeutic approach such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy or Compassion Focussed Therapy.
